After crushing world champions Australia in last 2 test matchs and won the series by 2-0, South Africa is now looking to grab the no.1 ranking in tests by winning the third and final test match starting from 3rd January, 2009 to 7th January, 2009 at Sydney Cricket Ground, SCG.

Australia after lost the series will try to save its top ranking by winning this match or atleast a draw keep them on top. Brett Lee and Andrew Symmonds are out due to injury and replaced by debutant Andrew McDonald and Doug Bollinger respectively.
