England Regained Ashes by 2-1, won the 5th test by 197 runs
England regained the Ashes series by 2-1 which they lost by 5-0 in 2007 as they won 5th and final thrilling test match by 197 runs on Sunday, 23rd August, 2009 Kennington Oval, London.England needed 10 wickets on the 4th day and got 2 early wickets as the openers gone early and then Ponting (66 runs) and Hussey put 127 runs partnership but run outs of Ponting and Clarke pushed back Australians. Michael Hussey hit his 10th test century gone in vain as he short of partners in the end.
Graem Swann was pick of the bowler in the 2nd inning with 4 wickets but the hero of the match is Stuart Broad whose 5 wicket haul in the first inning led the victory. Michael Clarke from Australia and England captain Andrw Strauss shared the Man of the Series award.
This was the last test match for England all rounder Andrew Flintoff.
