Pakistan face a mountainous task in attempting keep their focus and fill the vacuum left by the departure of their two best bowlers and Salman Butt, who was the team's leading runscorer at the World Twenty20 in the West Indies earlier this year.

England World Twenty20 triumph was crafted on a remorseless professionalism running through the side. It created a team where each player was entirely certain of their individual role and their position in the wider machine. In the first game after that success, however, there are a number of changes with Michael Lumb out with a broken foot and and Kevin Pietersen dropped.

Pakistan 1st T20 Team, Playing Eleven at Cardiff:

Mohammad Yousuf Lazarus like return to Test cricket was a catalyst for last week's fittingly dramatic four-wicket scramble to victory at The Oval, but Steven Finn insisted: "having Yousuf in the team doesn't make them a different team at all". His impact, though, was clear.

Kevin Pietersen is known to raise his game for the big occasion, and with England arguably the team under more pressure with the weight of expectation on their shoulders going into the fourth Test, the stage could be set for a vintage performance from him.

Pakistan 4th Test Team, Playing Eleven at Lord's:

Salman Butt (capt), Imran Farhat, Azhar Ali, Mohammad Yousuf, Umar Akmal, Yasir Hameed, Kamran Akmal (wk), Mohammad Amir, Wahab Riaz, Saeed Ajmal, Mohammad Asif.

England had to work harder than expected to wrap up the second Test - and at one stage their frustrations, especially Stuart Broad's, boiled over - but eventually a commanding nine-wicket success confirmed the gulf between these two teams.

Pakistan continue to be a mind-boggling mixture of confused signals, but after much deliberation it has been confirmed that Zulqarnain Haider is out of the series which is a major blow after his gutsy display last week.

England would be careless to underestimate the challenge posed by Pakistan - but some individuals will be playing for their Australia tour. Topping that list is Eoin Morgan, who earns another chance following Ian Bell's broken foot, and has this series to prove he should be the reserve batsman.
